Blackberry OS 6 teaser shows much improvement

Research in Motion has released a video giving viewers a taste of what the new Blackberry OS will looks like, giving the crusty old interface a much-needed overhaul.

Although the Blackberry OS continues to be one of the top-selling mobile phone platforms, it has become in dire need of a touch-up ever since the iPhone and Android brought cleaner, streamlined software to the industry.

The 6.0 version of Blackberry’s operating system, a platform that has been around since the turn of the century, will bring brand new features such as multi-touch support, social networking feeds, a cleaner home screen, universal search, and a fluid visual interface.

It also takes a page out of the Android book and puts a notification bar at the top of the screen for instant information about new e-mails and messages, and it also gives a fresh new update to Blackberry Messenger.

For those who have avoided getting a Blackberry because they’re not sleek and sexy enough, this new operating system may be worth checking out.
