Toshiba is jumping on the Chromebook bandwagon with a new 13-inch laptop designed to run the web-centric operating system.
Key features include Intel’s Celeron 2955U Celeron processor (Haswell), 13.3 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, SD card reader, 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port, Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11n WiFi.
Toshiba’s Chromebook has a $280 price tag, which is around the same cost as HP’s recently launched Chromebook 11.
However, the Toshiba Chromebook, which weighs about 3.3 pounds and is 0.8 inches thick, offers a bigger display, faster processor and more extended battery life (9 hours).
The Toshiba Chromebook is slated to be available February 16, when it will join the ranks of other recently launched Haswell-based Chromebooks such as the HP Chromebook 14 and Acer C720 Chromebook.
