The Kaiboer Q7 set-top box is somewhat different from the many STBs we’ve covered here on TG Daily in recent weeks.
The device – which runs Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) under a custom KIUI6.0 UI – is powered by a dual-core Cortex A7 SoC (most likely an AllWinner A20 chip) and features two Wi-Fi antennas, a front panel with LCD display and buttons, along with a 3.5″ SATA hard drive (HDD) bay.
As CNX-Software points out, the full spec list has not yet been made public, although we do know the Kaiboer Q7 set-top box also boasts four USB ports, HDMI, composite and component video outputs, coaxial and optical SPDIF audio outputs, RJ45 network connector and an on/off button.
Price and availability are unknown at this point, but we expect the set-top box to weigh in somewhere in the $125 range, give or take $20 or so either way.
