Samsung’s new ATIV Book 9 Lite is a thin and light notebook powered by an AMD A6 (Kabini) APU – pairing a 2 GHz quad-core processor with Radeon HD 8400 graphics.
Additional key specs include a 13.3 inch touchscreen display, 4GB of RAM,and a 128GB solid state disk (SSD).
“While the chip uses more power than a typical Intel Haswell laptop processor, AMD is positioning this chip as a competitor to Intel’s latest Core i3 or Pentium processors, so basically you get mid-range performance and lower battery life than you’d get with a Haswell chip,” Liliputing’s Brad Linder explained.
“The good news is that the ATIV Book 9 Lite should be cheaper than a typical ultrabook with an Intel Core processor – [and] it’ll probably sell for less than half the price.”
Which isn’t bad at all, especially considering the slick device boasts a 1366 x 768 pixel display, measures 0.66 inches thick and weighs just 3.2 pounds.
