Android tablets are finally hitting even lower price points than originally anticipated, with a dual-core Jelly Bean device weighing in at approximately $60.
The above-mentioned tablet is powered by Via’s WM8880 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked @ 1.5GHz and paired with ARM’s Mali-400 MP2 GPU.
Additional key hardware specs include 512MB DDR3, 4GB Flash storage, microSD slot, 7-inch WVGA (800×480) display, HDMI out, WiFi, 0.3MP Front and 0.3MP rear cameras, USB, built-in speaker and microphone and earphone jack.
Although the WM8880-powered lacks Bluetooth support and cutting-edge specs, it is still perfectly capable of running the latest version of Android (4.2) and would definitely make a fine secondary tablet, or even a primary tablet for someone who doesn’t require a huge amount of horsepower or external Bluetooth keyboard.
The 7-inch Via tablet is currently available on GeekBuying for $59 here.
