A few days ago, a leaked slide turned up teasing the LG Optimus G Pro, along with a few basic specs.
NTT DoCoMo has now gone official with the Pro, offering up detailed specifications for its latest and greatest tricked-out smartphone.
First off, the Optimus G Pro boasts a five-inch full HD resolution display with a pixel density set at 440 ppi. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro APG8064 processor paired with 2 GB of RAM and Android 4.1(Jelly Bean).
Power for the big-screen smartphone is drawn from a 3000 mAh battery, which should provide rather impressive runtime. Yes, a high capacity battery does make the G Pro some 1.5 mm thicker than the original Optimus G smartphone – although I think most mobile users would gladly make the swap if it means extra runtime.
Along with the impressive hardware, the G Pro is also offering a number of enhancements on the software side, including small widget-like apps that LG calls Slide Apps. Plus, users can now record video from the front and rear camera – simultaneously.
When recording video using both cameras, video feed from the front-end is superimposed over the top of the 13-megapixel rear camera video. Meaning, you’ll be able to record an event and your reaction at the same time.
The device is destined to hit the NTT DoCoMo network in Japan in April in white or black colors. Pricing is unknown at this time, and unfortunately, there is no indication of when or if the smartphone will hit US shores.
