Hordes of Windows 8 tablets are slated to descend on the highly competitive mobile market later this month alongside the operating system’s official launch – with LG becoming the latest company to debut a tablet in recent days.
Dubbed the H160, the tablet features an 11.6-inch touchscreen display (1366 x 768) paired with an Intel Atom Clover Trail (Z2760) processor. Essentially, the H160 has a sliding form factor with a little chiclet keyboard that pops out from underneath the display. Meaning, rather than having to manually slide the tablet screen, it has a button on the side of the case that you press and the screen pops up – with the keyboard extending automatically.
The tablet is 0.63-inches thick, making this one of the thickest we’ve seen so far this year, almost like an Ultrabook, in fact. The H160 weighs 2.3 pounds, promises up to 10 hours of battery life and offers viewing angles of 178°. Additional specs include integrated USB, Wi-Fi, HDMI output and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
