LG has unveiled its latest addition to the Optimus family of smartphones.
The Optimus G is making its debut in Korea, and will be on its way to other regions soon. It contains full support for 4G LTE mobile data, and that is just the beginning.
It also boasts being the perfect “second screen” companion for TV viewing, allowing users to mirror content between their phone and their TV or to have companion content on the phone while watching something else on a TV.
The device packs in a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with a quad-core Krait CPU and the top-of-the-line Adreno 320 GPU. In addition to that, it has a 13-megapixel camera, a 1.5 GHz spec and includes technology known as Asynchronous Symmetric Multiprocessing, which means each core can power up and down independently.
This has a huge impact on battery performance, allowing the phone to prevent the biggest issue that the entire industry continues to struggle with. Battery life is a big concern, and this kind of advancement in energy optimization is a step to relieving that burden.
The Optimus G has a 4.7-inch WXGA display with a 15:9 widescreen aspect ratio. Among the features it boasts are live zooming during video recording, voice-activated camera shutter, and the ability to send finger-drawn pictures and memos directly to other contacts.
