Whether you want to snooze the hours away under the sun, or create new friends and memories with a fantastic swim, or even scream your lungs out as you plummet towards the ground… life is full of adventure. 2017 was a rough year for a lot of people, including myself, and what’s left of 2018 is our chance to reclaim the life-changing losses a lot of us faced last year. With your permission, I’d like to share several ideas with you for jumping headfirst into new adventures this year.
1. Get Away From Society
In the Sierra Madre Mountains, there’s an exclusive (and hidden) hideaway beach. Las Caletas houses cloud-high palms, fit for making a day of lazily swinging on a hammock. Or exploring through the jungle (yes, really, it’s an actual jungle) and immersing yourself deep in the lives of tropical wildlife. There’s truly a sense of adventure for you here at the so-called “Garden of Eden of Mexico.” Las Caletas is accessible only by boat and is referred to as a hidden paradise getaway.
2. Go Swimming
Swimming with a Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin for 40 minutes is a painless, easy way of rekindling the fire inside your life again. Short of laughing with a child, there is no better way to keep the kid in you alive than enjoying a swim with dolphins. (Especially if you enjoy this ride with your kids!) This short journey truly gets your heart pumping with adrenaline rushes in no time flat, and will drive you surely nuts over how fun it is.
3. Bungee Jumping
I love bungee jumping, and try to go bungee jumping once a year – ever since I got over the fear of falling. Like a child who’s excitedly chewing his fingernails, lying awake at night anticipating the weekend… I’ve been dreaming of finding a new extraordinarily high building to leap from. So, if you have the funds to travel where I cannot, why not take over my dream for me? The Macau Tower in Macau, China, is 1109 ft. tall, and is more than high enough to make you fully reconsider what life is all about. Bungee jumping is one of those things that repeatedly punch you in the heart with a shot of adrenaline – for each second that you spend suspended in the air.
4. Culture
If you passionately love art, obsessively worship sports, or tenaciously follow politics: you want to be in Buenos Aires in 2018. This is because the G20, Art Basel Cities program and Youth Olympic Games will all occur in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Argentina will undoubtedly take focus as the “centrepiece of culture” later in 2018 for these three reasons, and will certainly help attendees become more sophisticated, cultured and knowledgeable about current issues and topics that’s happening in our world.
Conclusion
Although we’re half-way through the year, there’s still plenty of time to soak up the sun and fill your heart with laughter. No matter which “vacation destination” you choose, never let anyone pressure you into stopping yourself from taking the plunge. To really develop our potential in life, for leading happier lives we have to take new adventures that “shake up” our comfort zones. Any one of the destinations you’ve just learned about – aside from being an exotic vacation, will help you grow. As we enter the later months of 2018, there’s no reason you can’t make the most of your time and have the most thrilling, soul-rewarding experiences you’ve had in a long time.
