Due to the spike of Coronavirus cases in 37 states in the U.S, infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci urges everyone to avoid holding big Thanksgiving celebrations this year to keep people safe. In an interview covered by CBS Evening News, Fauci emphasized the need to enhance health protocols to help stem the spread of the deadly virus, especially in the coming winter season. He also reiterated that the usual health protocols like frequent handwashing, wearing masks, staying indoors should still be strictly observed.

During the interview by CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell with U.S leading infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci advices Americans who are already making plans for Thanksgiving to analyze the Coronavirus cases around the country, especially since there is a surge of infections.
He mentioned that families travelling across the country and gathering for the holidays would make the surge even worse.
Fauci says “You may have to bite the bullet and sacrifice that social gathering, unless you’re pretty certain that the people that you’re dealing with are not infected.”
