New Spy Kids film gets first trailer

The original Spy Kids trilogy generated plenty of goofball laughs, and the new one looks ready to do the same, for those who are into that sort of thing.

The new film, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World follows a new pair of mysteriously gifted kids as their parents get them accidentally embroiled in the plot of a dangerous supervillain.

They have to learn to work together, and play with a bunch of cool, and completely ridiculous gadgets, including a robotic attack-dog to save the day.

A Mad scientist is trying to stop all time, thus putting an end to the entire universe. The kids comedy action flick stars Jessica Alba as the retired-super-spy hot-step-mom, whom the kids will surely hate at the beginning of the film, and come to love by the end.

The original Spy Kids stars will also be reprising their roles, now teenagers with access to the cartoony gadgets of the now-defunct Spy Kids division of the OSS. It’s good to see Alexa Vega back in a movie again, particularly. Hopefully it’ll give her career a new boost.

Robert Rodriguez is still producing and directing the film, just as he did the first three, so we can expect a lot of similar themes, characters, and effects from Spy Kids: All the Time in the World.

Hopefully the eight year gap between the trilogy and this film will help the whole thing feel a lot less rushed than the second and third films did.
