Merge, Domino and Beggars Group pulled their content from eMusic in response to the site’s shift to get major labels on board as content contributors. Their content was pulled from the website a week ago and an announcement was made via eMusic’s forum.
In other news, Peter Christopherson died at 55. The British Music Legend is known for making music in bands Throbbing Gristle and Coil. His influence was not only in the world of music, for he also British art design group, Hipgnosis. He died Wednesday in his sleep at his home in Bankok.
On a more positive note, Arcade Fire has teamed up with Spike Jonze for their “The Suburbs” music video. As expected, Jonze’s directing added an eccentric twist to the title track’s video.
Also, LA based KCRW previewd Daft Punk’s sountrack for Disney’s TRON: Legacy. Previewing five tracks, they will all be available for streaming on KCRW’s website on Nov. 29.
Also, big releases were announced this week starting with Ryan Adams. Adams has announced his double album III/IV will be released on Dec. 14th. This will be his first release since 2008’s Easy Tiger. Scottish Post-Rock group, Mogwai, also announced an album release. Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will will be their seventh studio album and is expected out on Feb. 15, 2011.

Mogwai Releasing New Album and Offering Up Free MP3: Sub Pop Records is releasing Scottish post-rock band Mogwai’s seventh studio album, Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will (due out February 15, 2011).
