What’s better than a huge music festival with amazing headliners? A huge music festival with amazing headliners plus amazing guests. And that’s exactly what happened at this year’s Glastonbury 2010.
Muse, Scissor Sisters, and Gorillaz invited such musical acts as Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Snoop Dogg, Kylie Minogue, and The Edge to make their appearances that much more impressive. Surprises are wonderful and made Glastonbury 2010 historic. Also this week, Matador Records announced some of the line-up for their big 21st birthday party in Las Vegas – including the “classic ’93 – ’96 line-up” plus Spoon, Yo La Tengo, Cat Power, The New Pornographers, and much more. Rage Against The Machine frontman, Zach de la Rocha is indeed raging against the machine in his attempt to boycott the state of Arizona due to its recently passed immigration law. De la Rocha is organizing a series of concerts entitled “The Sound Strike” in protest. Any new music? Bjork announced collaborations with The Dirty Projectors, Antony and the Johnsons, and Ólöf Arnalds, The Dead Weather premiered their new music video, Of Montreal announced their new album and is offering the first single for download, and The Thermals have released their new single “I Don’t Believe You” for download as well.
