Sarah Palin is outraged over a leaked (and heated) e-mail exchange between her husband and Alaska GOP Senate nominee Joe Miller.
As Andy Barr of Politico notes, the controversial e-mails reveal Todd Palin’s barely restrained anger at Miller for intimating that his wife wasn’t qualified to be president.
“Sarah put her ass on the line for Joe and yet he can’t answer the simple question ‘Is Sarah Palin qualified to be president,'” Palin wrote in the e-mail obtained by an Alaskan blog known as The Mudflats.
“[So], Joe, please explain how this endorsement stuff works, is it to be completely one sided?”
Todd Palin has since expressed his regrets over the strongly worded e-mail, while Miller confirmed that Palin is indeed qualified to be president of the United States.
However, an agitated Sarah Palin told Fox’s Sean Hannity that Miller’s opponents had already succeeded in getting what they were after.
“A diversion like that…Trying to make me a part of the narrative there in Joe Miller’s campaign,” said Palin.
“[Clearly], Joe Miller is the right person to help lead Alaska and to help lead our nation. [Anyway], how did the media ever even get that e-mail that Todd had written? [It is] just some desperation on the other camp’s part.”
