Chicago (IL) – Rockstar Games has confirmed the fall release of The Ballad of Gay Tony, the latest Grand Theft Auto IV expansion pack for the XBOX 360.
According to Rockstar, Episodes from Liberty City will include The Lost and Damned title along with The Ballad of Gay Tony on a single disc.
“Liberty City is the most vibrant game world we’ve created yet. The episodic structure has allowed us to interweave stories, gameplay and atmosphere in a whole new way,” explained Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “The team at Rockstar North have yet again surpassed themselves, and made something that is both epic and very innovative. This episode’s focus on high-end night life contrasts with the biker gangs portrayed in The Lost and Damned, whilst giving us a lot of new gameplay possibilities.”
The Ballad of Gay Tony reportedly “injects” Liberty City with an “overdose” of guns, glitz, and grime. Players assume the role of Luis Lopez, a part-time hoodlum and full-time assistant to legendary nightclub impresario Tony Prince (aka “Gay Tony”). Unsurprisingly, Lopez is caught between the competing loyalties of family and friends. He is soon forced to decide “who is real and who is fake in a world in which everyone has a price.”
Episodes, which is expected to cost $39.99, does not require a copy of the original Grand Theft Auto IV to play.
Xbox 360 owners will also have the option of downloading The Ballad of Gay Tony this fall for $19.99 or 1600 MS points. However, players will be required to have a copy of GTA IV as well as Xbox LIVE membership.
