The girl with the dragon tattoo – aka Noomi Rapace – says she is excited about assuming the role of Elizabeth Shaw in Ridley Scott’s hotly anticipated “Prometheus” film.
“She’s definitely her own [character]… She’s a scientist and very bright. She’s a believer,” Rapace told MTV during a recent interview.
“[Yes], I think there [may be] some similarities [to Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley], but she’s [still] very much her own [character]. I [really] don’t think people will compare her so much to Ripley once they see the movie.”
Rapace also emphasized that she is looking forward to working with the famous Scott who directed the original “Alien.”
“It’s a great honor and I’m really excited. I’ve met him maybe seven or eight times and he’s so passionate. He really loves movies. He watches movies every night. He’s seen everything.
“We [even] had a long chat on the phone – he’s in LA now – about my character. I have many ideas and he has many ideas, and now we’re starting to search and try to find her.”
Aside from Rapace, “Prometheus” is expected to feature a star-studded lineup.
Actors include the sexy Charlize Theron, Rafe Spall of Hot Fuzz fame, Michael Fassbender, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie and Idris Elba.
