Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has adopted an openly skeptical attitude towards Apple’s recently unveiled iPad.
Indeed, Iwata told the Associated Press that the tablet device was just a “bigger iPod Touch” which offered “no surprises.”
Iwata also opined that 3D video-gaming was unlikely to become a popular pastime.
“I have doubts whether people will be wearing glasses to play games at home. How is that going to look to other people?”
However, Iwata added that his company was willing to examine the “possible health effects” associated with long-term 3D gaming.
Finally, Iwata denied reports that Nintendo was developing a motion-sensor feature for its popular DS handheld gaming system.
“I question whether those features would be enough to get people to buy new machines,” opined Iwata.
