This week, the luckiest people are those that reside in/around the New York City area and are huge My Morning Jacket fans. If that’s you, you’re having an awesome week. The band announced that they will perform all five of their albums in a special New York City concert series – each album a different night. Other news includes: Amanda Palmer + Radiohead + ukulele = an amazing new EP. In celebration of a major label release, Palmer is creating an eclectic quirky EP of Radiohead covers. Several musicians announced new albums this week, including The Vaselines, Pete Yorn, and MAYBE Rage Against the Machine. Additionally, Panda Bear will be releasing a new singles series, and new artists were added to the Rock the Bells 2010 lineup.

My Morning Jacket To Perform All 5 LP’s In Special New York Run: My Morning Jacket has announced a special 5-night run at New York City’s Terminal 5, where the band will perform a full-length album in its entirety at every show.

Amanda Palmer To Release Donation-Based Radiohead Covers Ukulele EP:After her departure from Roadrunner Records, Amanda Palmer is celebrating by releasing a self-produced EP of Radiohead covers on the ukulele – aptly named Amanda Palmer Performs the Popular Hits of Radiohead on Her Magical Ukulele.

New Rage Against The Machine Album A Possibility: Ever Since Rage Against the Machine began playing shows together again, fans have wondered if new material would ever be released. Frontman Zach de la Rocha commented, saying it’s a “genuine possibility.”

The Vaselines To Release First Album In 20 Years: The Vaselines have announced the release of their first album in 20 years, Sex With an X, which is due out September 14th.

Pete Yorn Announces New Album Produced By Frank Black: Pete Yorn has announced the release of his self-titled album out September 28th – produced by Frank Black (known for his work with The Pixies.)

Rock The Bells Adds Lauryn Hill, Snoop Dogg and A Tribe Called Quest: Lauryn Hill, Snoop Dogg, and A Tribe Called Quest has been added to the Rock the Bells 2010 lineup.

 

Panda Bear Announces New Single Series, Plays New Song At Primavera: Animal Collective’s Panda Bear has announced the release of a series of limited edition 7” singles, beginning July 12th. Also, the band debuted a new song at Primavera.
