James Bond’s famous 1964 Aston Martin DB5 is being auctioned off in London for a cool $5 million.
According to Reuters, the Aston Martin is one of two original “007” DB5s that appeared on screen with Sean Connery in the unforgettable “Goldfinger” and “Thunderball.”
The tricked-out car is equipped with a number of “Q-Branch” gadgets, including (fake) machine guns, bullet-proof shields, revolving number plates, tracking devices, removable roof panel, oil slick sprayer, nail spreader and smoke screen.
“Under normal circumstances we would expect classic car collectors to be interested,” explained Peter Haynes of RM Auctions, which is handling the sale.
“But because it is 007’s car then it should appeal to wealthy people who like collecting cultural iconic items, like Jimi Hendrix’s guitar or Marilyn Monroe’s dress.”
