Game of Thrones Promises to End Well, and There May Also Be a Movie

We often rant about shows and movies that are ruined by their endings, but this is preaching to the converted. Where Breaking Bad had a good finale, plans are in place for Game of Thrones to end well, and there may be movies as well.

As the writers / producers of Thrones, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, have recently said, they want to get out at the right time, and don’t want the show to outstay its welcome. They told Entertainment Weekly they know how the story will end because there’s two more books to come, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

Weiss said that the way the story ends up is “100 percent” satisfying, and Thrones creator George R.R. Martin himself has called it “bittersweet.” There is also the possibility that there could be Game of Thrones movies as well.

As Martin told the Hollywood Reporter, “It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know.”

Season Four of Game of Thrones will launch on April 6.
