The Kiss Army Wins the Band Their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction

Kiss have always called their fans The Kiss Army, and a true army of dedicated followers won the band their place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This year, Kiss were eligible for induction, and they got it.

As we previously reported here on TG, the fans put in so many votes that they were actually ahead of Nirvana at one point. And love Kiss or hate ‘em, they absolutely deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Artists that were up for the Rock Hall this year that made the cut include Hall and Oates, Nirvana, Peter Gabriel, Linda Ronstadt, and Cat Stevens. Bands that missed the cut were Yes, The Zombies, Deep Purple, and N.W.A., among others.

The induction ceremony will happen on April 10, 2014 at the Barclays Center in New York, and there’s certain to be at least two major train wrecks that night. The first will be Gene Simmons not allowing the original members, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, to the ceremony, and if they do show up, it’s certain to cause fireworks.

The other train wreck should be all the insane, tri-polar, high out of her mind drama Courtney Love will bring to this, and everybody running around trying to keep her away from the surviving members of Nirvana. After all, what’s a major rock n roll ceremony without a ton of unresolved baggage and childish behavior?

In any event, whatever happens that night, Nirvana and Kiss are in, and for both bands it’s a victory well deserved.
