Alien. Prometheus. And now… Mind MGMT.
Yes, the veteran genre director has reportedly been recruited by none other than 20th Century Fox to produce the feature film through his Scott Free banner alongside Dark Horse Entertainment’s Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg.
For those who don’t religiously follow the expansive comics book universe, the Mind MGMT comic was created by Matt Kindt for Dark Horse.
The story depicts the adventures of a “true crime writer” named Meru who searches for the truth behind a mysterious flight when she discovers a secret government agency full of psychic spies. An estranged agent, known as Henry Lime, teams up with Meru to bring down the organization.
Ridley Scott may be on board along with Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg, but as Collider confirms, the trio is searching for a screenwriter for the project.
It is probably also worth noting that Kindt previously had a graphic novel titled “The Secret History of the Giant Man” set up at Warner Bros. with Dustin Lance Black tapped to write and direct.
The official synopsis for Mind MGMT is as follows:
“Reporting on a commercial flight where everyone aboard lost their memories, a young journalist stumbles onto a much bigger story, the top-secret Mind Management program… Her ensuing journey involves weaponized psychics, hypnotic advertising, talking dolphins, and seemingly immortal pursuers, as she attempts to find the flight’s missing passenger, the man who was Mind MGMT’s greatest success – and its most devastating failure. But in a world where people can rewrite reality itself, can she trust anything she sees?”
