On 007 Skyfall

Many thought it couldn’t be done, but the James Bond novel that was long considered “un-filmable” revitalized the Bond franchise, and ushered in Daniel Craig as the new 007.

The latest Bond movie, Skyfall, is currently filming with Craig, and he’s sure to continue on as the legendary secret agent for some time to come, but will he end up breaking Sean Connery and Roger Moore’s records one day?

Both Connery and Moore have done, ironically enough, seven Bond films each, while Craig’s currently on his third.

As reported in Entertainment Weekly, Michael G. Wilson, who is currently in charge of the Bond series along with Barbara Broccoli said “I’d love Daniel to surpass Roger’s record and do eight pictures.”

It’s also been reported that Bond is now on Twitter, @007, and it makes sense considering he was always at the forefront of technology.

(Maybe Q finally convinced him to get with the times.)

And as we reported here on TG, John Logan, screenwriter of Hugo, The Aviator and Rango, is also working on the Skyfall script, which will be released on the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond film, Dr. No.

As Logan told Movieline, “For 50 years and for 23 movies, this franchise has been going strong, and it’s been reinterpreted by various artists over the  years, and yet it has a very specific spirit to it.”

As for Logan’s favorite 007 flicks, “Goldfinger, although I have a very sentimental attachment to Diamonds Are Forever, which was the first one I saw in a theater was a kid. Octopussy is very underrated. From Russia With Love is top-notchespionage. I think both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are thrilling, modern, and exciting movies. So I’m just a fan of the franchise.”

James Bond: Skyfall will hit theaters on October 26, 2012.
