The fall out from Korea hacking Sony still kings. Not only did the leaked e-mails cost Sony head Amy Pascal her job, but it’s the subject of conversation again because the e-mails predicted doom on Cameron Crowe’s latest bomb Aloha.
Now comes the news that a pair of documentary filmmakers, Oscar nominated to boot, will be making a comedy about the Sony hack, and we wonder if this is going to stir the ire of Korean terrorists again.
At first we figured this would be another comedy, could have even made a funny sequel to The Interview, but the Hollywood Reporter tells us this will be a serious inquiry into the Sony hack, and it will even attempt to unmask the culprits behind the hack. (Still to this day nobody quite knows who the Guardians of Peace are, and some speculated the hack may have been caused by a disgruntled Sony employee.)
As one of the filmmakers said, “The Sony story is an important chapter in a larger issue. The analysts and experts we speak to see it as the 9/11 of cyberattacks, and the implications will be felt for years to come.”
