The news has just broken that Pacific Rim 2’s release date has been pushed back, and while this is definitely a disappointment, the good news is there’s going to be a second Pacific Rim movie after all.
It’s been something the fans have wondered for a long time now…will there be a sequel to Pacific Rim? It wasn’t a big hit in the States, but it did well enough world-wide to potentially warrant a sequel. This one is set up at Universal, with Guillermo Del Toro directing, and the release date has been pushed from April 2, 2017 to August 4, 2017.
As for the World of Warcraft movie, which we’re looking forward to seeing, it’s now being moved from March 11, 2016 to June 10, 2016. We see this as a good sign, because usually you don’t open a movie early in the year if you’ve got a major hit, and maybe Warcraft will be good enough to compete with the big boys next summer.
As for Pacific Rim, we’re also looking forward to seeing this potential franchise getting a second chance, and we’re glad that it now officially is getting a new lease on life.
