X-Men Apocalypse will be the next installment in the legendary big screen Marvel adaptation, and now reports tell us Jubilee will be part of the mutant jamboree this time around.
As Collider tells us, the character will be played by Lana Condor, a new Asian actress, and this will apparently be her big debut. The cast of younger actors playing the X-Men team will include Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, and Kodi Smit-MCPhee as Nightcrawler.
As Collider reports, “This signals that [director Bryan Singer] is gearing up to expand the ‘young X-Men universe,’ and it also ensures that if Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult depart, the franchise won’t be out of established characters.”
Jennifer Lawrence has announced that Apocalypse will be her last X-Men movie, and Gambit, who will be played by Channing Tatum, may also make an appearance in Apocalypse before his spinoff movie, which is coming in 2016.
The X-Men movies have thankfully made a big comeback with X-Men Days of Future Past, and we hope Apocalypse will be the next great step in the evolution of the series.
