We all know that superhero teams are what’s happenin’ these days, and we’re willing to be there will be more hero teamups in the works after Avengers Age of Ultron, which is certain to make a kazillion dollars this summer. And one of the most interesting comic teams, Suicide Squad, will shoot this April.
Collider tells us that David Ayer, director of Fury and writer of Training Day, will be helming, and the cast will include Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, and Jared Leto, who will apparently be playing The Joker. According to this report, Will Smith may be part of the team as well.
Robbie will be playing Harley Quinn, Courtney will be playing Deadshot, and Jesse Eisenberg may be back as Lex Luthor. (He’s playing Luthor in Batman Vs Superman as well.)
Suicide Squad is clearly being positioned to follow up Batman Vs Superman, and we’re actually much more interested in this one than B V S by far. We’re especially curious to see how Leto will fare as the Joker, and we’re also looking forward to seeing Harley Quinn on the big screen for the first time as well.
