The Star Wars Force Awakens trailer was barely out in the world when everyone was asking who’s voice is that? Well it didn’t take long before we got the answer: Andy Serkis.
Rumor had it Serkis was involved in Star Wars somehow, we still don’t know to what extent, and probably won’t for some. (Serkis was asked about it recently, and obviously can’t talk it right now.)
Serkis also apparently helped with the motion capture performance for Avengers Age of Ultron, and he told Empire and Collider, “On the development of Ultron before James Spader came on board. In terms of movement styles: was he gonna be human like? Was he going to be robot like? So we worked with a bunch of different people, from body-popping experts to dancers…”
We’re still not sure who Serkis could be playing in Avengers, but apparently by his comment above he’s been helping the other actors with their motion capture performances, which makes sense because he has to be the current champion of the technology.
Not only is Andy Serkis apparently in both the new Avengers and Star Wars, he’s also going to be doing motion capture versions of The Jungle Book and Animal Farm.
