While superhero movies are slowing down a bit at the box office, the X-Men movies should continue to do well, because they were a major franchise before the whole world of Marvel blew up at the box office. Except now there may be a wrench in the works with the spin-off movie, Gambit.
As The Wrap reports, Channing Tatum may be leaving the movie because his deal “is falling apart.” The Wrap also tells us they may have to cast another actor in the lead. So what would make him leave the movie?
Well, nobody’s saying anything just yet, and it was Tatum’s involvement that got 20th Century Fox galvanized into action to get the movie up and running in the first place. Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) is in place to direct, and hopefully Tatum will be in the lead when it reaches theaters on October 7, 2016.
