Psystar has confirmed plans to permanently halt operations. ??According to company attorney Eugene Action, the controversial Mac clone manufacturer intends to fire all 8 of its employees.
“[Psystar will then] shut things down immediately,” Action told the Dow Jones Newswires. “They will not be in business.”
Psystar’s decision to throw in the towel comes just days after US District Judge William Alsup ordered Psystar to permanently halt sales of unauthorized Mac clones.
?
Alsup also banned the controversial manufacturer from copying, selling, distributing or creating derivative works of Mac OS X without authorization from Apple.
Finally, Psystar was warned against intentionally inducing or assisting individuals and entities from infringing Apple’s copyrighted OS X software.
Yes, hell certainly hath no fury like an Apple scorned.
Update:
K.A.D. Camara, of the Houston, Texas firm Camara & Sibley LLP told ComputerWorldthat Psystar will not be permanently shutting down despite reports to the contrary.
“Regrettably, Mr. Action was misquoted in an early story that seems to have been picked up elsewhere. Psystar does not intend to shut down permanently.”
