The CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs, said today that over three billion apps have been downloaded by iPhone and iPod users.
He said: “This is like nothing we’ve ever seen before. The App Store offers iPhone and iPod touch users an experience unlike anything else available on other mobile devices, and we see no signs of the competition catching up anytime soon.”
Apps are available in 77 countries round the world, and Apple said those fall into 20 categories including news, games and business.
In China, they don’t include applications related to the Dalai Lama. The Peoples’ Republic have, apparently, successfully lobbied against such Tibetan apps being made available to its not so free citizens.
