A hacking group known as “Inj3ct0r Team” says it recently compromised a server belonging to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The pwned data – comprising a server backup and confidential info – was posted on the MediaFire file hosting site under the name “NATO Tomcat 5.5 Servlet Backup.”
“NATO lamers! I’ve been watching you day and night since then! W00t! Your machines rooted,” the group wrote in a text file obtained and quoted by IDG.
“Servers restored to default! What else? Soon enough all your stupid ideas will be published on WikiLeaks!”
Interestingly enough, NATO’s press office has yet to confirm or deny the alleged hack and extract operation.
The apparent North Atlantic Treaty Organization breach follows a series of high profile cyber strikes by groups such as Anonymous and the now defunct LulzSecurity.
As TG Daily previously reported, LulzSec was involved in targeting a number of prominent corporations and government entities, including Sony, the FBI, U.S. Senate, Bethesda and Arizona law enforcement officials.
Although LulzSec has officially disbanded, cyber activists linked to Anonymous have continued their digital hacking campaign under the auspices of the rapidly growing AntiSec movement.
