When it comes to garnering interest for CES, some companies are more creative than others. Some simply send out mass e-mails with their latest press releases and a blanket invitation for meetings. Then there are companies like HTC.
The picture seen here is from PhoneDog.com. It’s one of many publications that received the following contents:
* A picture of the Android logo in Las Vegas
* A sticker with the words “Froyo lover”
* An Android plush
* Four keychains with the letter “G”
So, it doesn’t take a genius to see that HTC is teasing a 4G, Android product, which will have Froyo (Android 2.2) installed, and it has something to do with Las Vegas. By the way, CES takes place in Las Vegas, so we’re guessing there’s probably a connection there.
Of course, 4G is going to be an enormous part of next month’s huge trade show, and all the big mobile players will have something to say about it. Anyone who’s anyone will have a 4G product to display, and HTC is definitely someone.
The only question is what mobile carrier it has picked from the 4G roulette for its next entry in the new frontier. The company has already created 4G phones for Sprint, so that wouldn’t be anything exciting.
For now, we’ll just have to wait and see. And we’ll admire HTC’s creative spirit in the meantime. [[HTC]]
