EA says mobile gaming market worth $3.4 billion

Electronic Arts (EA) has pegged the lucrative mobile gaming market at a staggering $3.4 billion for 2010.

The publisher also projects that the rapidly evolving market will continue its meteoric rise to a cool $4.5 billion in 2013.

Indeed, according to EA, at least $1.7 billion of mobile games revenue will be generated in Asia, with Europe weighing in at $0.7 billion and the US at $1 billion.

In addition, $1 billion of the US and European mobile game revenue stream is expected to be generated by smartphone titles and $0.7 billion from feature phones.

However, by 2013, (US and European) feature phone game revenue is expected to sink to $0.5 billion, while smartphone income will increase to a tidy $1.8 billion.
