Club Cupertino’s App Store recently rejected a Danish magazine for its (obviously offensive) Android-based content.
As the folks at Electronista point out, the rather draconian move is likely to “reinforce charges” that Apple’s censorship practices are heavy-handed, arbitrary, and dare we say it – hypocritical.
To be sure, a similar magazine app known as Androidworld Reader is currently residing in the wilds of Apple’s App store.
But publisher Brian Dixen says that his publication – Android Magasinet – is devoted “exclusively” to Google’s OS, which was cited by Club Cupertino as the “deciding factor” in rejecting the app.
“[Really], we have to get not only our apps but every single copy of our magazines approved,” Dixen told Media Watch.
“[So], I wonder what will happen if we choose to make the next issue of our magazine about mobile phones in general a theme issue about Android.
“[Sure], the whole incident is funny really because I don’t think we would sell many magazines on Android through Apple App Store…But the question is – where is this [all] going?
