After much speculation, Motorola has confirmed that the Droid 2 Global is real, and has posted official technical specs on its website. Although, it appears Motorola didn’t want that to happen.
A Droid 2 Global site on Motorola.com has been pulled but not before people began spreading the information found therein all across the Internet.
The device will look just like the Droid 2, except it will pack in a more powerful, 1.2 GHz processor as well as quad-band GSM support. That means it can make calls to and from pretty much anywhere in the world that has cell phone reception.
It’ll have Android 2.2 pre-installed, 8 GB of built-in memory, and microSDHC support for total memory capacity of up to 40 GB.

It will be sold through Verizon, which normally uses a standard called CDMA, which works great in the US but is useless in other countries. AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM, which is spottier in the US but is a more global standard. The Droid 2 Global will actually be able to make CDMA calls while in the US and GSM calls when a CDMA signal is not available.
