The two played a couple songs for the Hoping Foundation in Oxfordshire, England – and raised $527,000. OMD and Franz Nicolay have both announced upcoming album releases. OMD is returning to the music scene with their first new album in 14 years, History ofModern, which will hit stores September 28th. Franz Nicolay, current touring member of Against Me!, is planning to release a solo album entitled Luck & Courage, set to be released October 12th. Also, Cradle of Filth have announced the name of their new LP: Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa.
So, what should you do this weekend? Definitely get your tickets for this year’s Pygmalion Festival, held September 22-25. The festival features artists such as Of Montreal, Built to Spill, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, Holy Fuck, Cap’n Jazz, Caribou, and more. Also, check out Broken Bells’ new interactive 3-D video for their single “October.” Basically, the video allows you to navigate through an alternate universe where there are geometrical patterns, haunting images and mathematical equations.
