Porsche AG is likely to price its hybrid 918 Spyder at a cool $630,000.
If manufactured, the hybrid concept car – which does 100 KPH in 3.2 seconds – would take its place as the auto company’s most expensive vehicle.
“The Spyder will become Porsche’s new supercar showpiece project,” Stefan Bratzel, director of the Center of Automotive at the University of Applied Sciences in Germany told Bloomberg.
“It unites Porsche’s high-performance engineering with intelligent drive technology.”
Indeed, the two-seater car is capable of achieving a top speed of 320 kilometers (199 miles) per hour.
It is also equipped with a 500-horsepower V8 engine and electric drive-systems, which allows the vehicle to run up to 25 kilometers on electric power.
In addition, the 918 Spyder emits less than 70 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer on fuel consumption of three liters per 100 kilometers.
