The man who spearheaded SCO’s attack against IBM and the Linux operating system has been eliminated.
In a statement, SCO said it is to restructure the company in accordance with the Chapter 11 trustee who looks after its affairs right now.
The firm said: “As part of the restructuring, the company has eliminated the CEO and President positions and consequently terminated Darl McBride.”
The chief operating officer, the chief financial officer, and the general counsel will work with the Chapter 11 trustee to carry on liquidating the asset sales.
It will also continue to litigate against IBM and Novell and said it will carry on supporting SCO’s “loyal UNIX customers”.
The company’s web site continues on the anti-Linux front, saying many of its customers are worried about using the OS because of allegations that it derives from the UNIX operating system.
“SCO is also sympathetic to the end user’s predicament.” But not to Darl McBride, it seems.
But his biography and picture are still on SCO’s website.
