Social networking site Facebook has introduced a slim down version of Facebook aimed at people with slow net connections.
It’s only available in India and the USA right now – and it’s not clear whether it will be made available in other territories.
The interface, which can be found at lite.facebook.com, is a considerably modified version of full Facebook, lacking applications and designed in such a way that graphics and other bells and whistles are kept to the bare minimum.
But if you decide to switch from Facebook Full to Facebook Lite, all of the sharing and status information is preserved, as well as your “friends”, your photographs and your videos.
Facebook is obviously aiming its Lite version at the Twitterati but of course you have the ability to write far longer notifications than Twitter offers.
