Anti-virus software firm McAfee has a fresh bit of nonsense to proffer to the world today.
The company said that searching for Jessica Biel yields dodgy web sites positive for adware, spam, phishing, viruses and other foulware. “Searching for the latest celebrity news and downloads can cause serious damage to one’s personal computer,” trills McAfee.
Why Jessica Biel should score first McAfee doesn’t say, although it claims that every day people search for names and images of celebrities and the cybercrooks are ready and waiting to plunge your own PC into chaos.
Naturally, this is all just a hook for McAfee to plug its own wares but it knows that mentioning celebrities will make us all lift up our fingers and tap out stories on our keyboards.
The top 10 celebs that can attract malware are Biel, Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston, Tom Brady, Jessica Simpson, Gisele Bundchen, Miley Cyrus, Megan Fox, Ashley Tisdale and Brad Pitt. Frankly, I have no idea who these people are.
