San Francisco (CA) – Nokia has announced a new Symbian handset geared towards social networking addicts. The S60 features a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and multi-tasking capabilities.
The device – which offers Flash support – facilitates the rapid posting of messages, images, videos, and comments via a pre-installed JuiceCaster application.
Other notable features include:
- 2.0 megapixel camera with 4X digital zoom.
- AT&T Navigator – Provides audible turn-by-turn directions, monitors traffic and alerts users when there is a slowdown or incident.
- Mobile Music – Lets users listen to music and download tracks from Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile and XM Radio.
- AT&T Video Share – Allows users to share live video over wireless devices while participating in a voice call.
The Nokia Surge will be available online and in AT&T stores on July 19. The phone is expected retail for $80 after a mail-in rebate, along with a two-year service agreement. In order to qualify for the mail-in rebate, however, the contract must include monthly voice and data plans of at least $40 and $30, respectively.
