The first two episodes of the popular Steampunk digital series known as “Riese: Kingdom Falling” are now live on Syfy.com.
Additional episodes will be released every Tuesday and Thursday at 12 PM PST and will also be available via Sony’s PS3, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Amazon.
Narrated by Amanda Tapping of Sanctuary fame, the 10-part series stars a number of well known Sci-Fi stars, including Sharon Taylor (Smallville); Christine Chatelain (Sanctuary); Ben Cotton (Harper’s Island), Allison Mack (Smallville); Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary); Patrick Gilmore (Stargate: Universe); Peter Kelamis (Stargate: Universe); Alessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica) and Emilie Ullerup (Sanctuary).
Created by Ryan Copple and Kaleena Kiff, the initial web production of Riese launched on YouTube in November 2009.
The series was viewed over 1.3 million times before ultimately being taken down by its distributor, Fireworks International, a subsidiary of Content Films.
Riese has already won the Streamy Award for Best Cinematography in a Web Series, while racking up an additional three nominations for Best Sound Design, Best Foreign Series and Art Direction.
The creators of Riese: Kingdom Falling have also teamed up with Vancouver based Genius Factor Games to release an iPhone/iPod Touch game to coincide with the long-awaited Syfy launch.
