Margot Robbie’s charmingly haunting characterisation of the insane Harley Quinn must have really impressed Warner Brothers because an unnamed female screenwriter has been assigned the script.
Harley Quinn has been generally popular among comic fans and Robbie only boosted that image further. And now she’s ready to debut without Joker, possibly backed by her own band of female heroes ranging from Poison Ivy to Batgirl.
As far as DC is concerned, the obsession with Batman and Superman had long started to show signs of failure and a female character from DC is perhaps just what it needs to up its game.
