We just reported on the full-length trailer for Steve Jobs, the big, pimpin’ official biopic of the tech icon that’s hitting theaters in October, and we were very impressed with what we saw. But of course there’s people who knew Steve for real who you know will be weighing in, and usually the first of them is Steve Wozniak.
So what does the Woz think of the trailer? Well, his feelings are mixed, but apparently mostly positive. As far as Seth Rogen playing him, “I don’t talk that way,” Wozniak said to Variety and Bloomberg. The lines I heard spoken were not things I would say but carried the right message, at least partly. I felt a lot of the real Jobs in the trailer, although a bit exaggerated.”
We should try to expect that no dramatic movie can ever capture how things happened exactly, but the real question should be does a movie capture the overall truth, or the greater truth of somebody’s life. This will be a tough one with Jobs, who was a very complicated man, and someone that ten movies probably couldn’t completely capture.
All we can say is we were very impressed by the trailer, and like we said about the Mad Max trailer, if the movie’s half as good as the coming attraction, it’s definitely gonna be a winner. (And we saw how good Mad Max turned out…)
