The Avengers is still four days away from hitting American theaters, and while it’s gotten mixed reviews, there’s no question it’s going to make a sh*theap of money this weekend. Even if Age of Ultron doesn’t totally live up to expectations, the sequels, Infinity War, part one and two, are of course moving forward.
Joss Whedon won’t be back to direct, but brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, who helmed Captain America Civil War, will be taking over the business. Collider tells us that Infinity War will start shooting in late 2016, and the shoot may go nine months. Part one has a release day of May 4, 2018, part two, May 3, 2019.
Chris Evans knows he’s got a full dance card for the rest of the decade with Avengers and Captain America, and he told Esquire, “You plan around the Marvel responsibilities. You have to. We start Captain America Civil War in a couple of weeks, that shoots until August or something like that. Then I’ve got some downtime…And then we start the Infinity War, fall or winter 2016. That’s going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back.”
And let’s not forget we’ve got Doctor Strange coming November 6 of next year, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on May 5, 2017.
