Okay, so a lot of us don’t like zombies that run, myself included, but you gotta admit, it was great in 28 Days Later. It may have launched the running undead trend, but again, it was a terrific movie, and one of the movies that also helped launch the digital revolution because it was shot on HD.
Now Alex Garland tells Collider that he’s been in touch with Days director Danny Boyle, who also gave us Slumdog Millionaire, and there is indeed talk of 28 Months Later. Garland has a new movie, Ex Machina, his directing debut, and he said there are “quite serious conversations” going on about another movie.
First Boyle has to get his Steve Jobs biopic out of the way, he’ll be directing that next for Universal, but Garland said it would indeed be more likely to be 28 Months than days later. “28 Years gives you one more place to go. 28 Decades is probably taking the piss.”
We’re sure there’s been talk of more Days undead movies for a while now, and it would be great to have one more go around with Boyle and Garland. While we’re at it, we’re also still holding out hopes for another Dredd movie from Garland, he wrote the script.
