KGI securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo has published a rough outline of Apple’s 2014 roadmap, which includes a lower-cost iMac, an upgraded iPad Air/iPad Mini, new iWatch (in two sizes) and a 4.7-inch/5.5-inch iPhone.
In terms of the long-awaited iWatch, Kuo expects (via MacRumors) the device to ship at the end of the third quarter and offer a wide range of features including full integration with the iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Additional purported specs include a 1.3-inch and 1.5-inch flexible AMOLED display, sapphire cover lens, biometric recognition, an NFC chip, wireless charging, a 200 to 250 mAh battery and a slim, light design.
On the iPhone front, the two handsets are said to boast resolutions of 1334×750 (326ppi) and 1920 x 1080 (401 ppi), respectively. Both models are reportedly equipped with an A8 processor, 1GB of RAM, LTPS display panels, optical image stabilization and Touch ID.
Meanwhile, the iPad Air 2 is expected to sport Touch ID, an A8 processor, as well as an improved camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels. Similarly, the new iPad Mini is likely equipped with an A8 processor and Touch ID.
As for the 12-inch Macbook Air, the higher-resolution device is said to incorporate a touchpad without buttons or fan.
It should be noted that Kuo’s report, while likely based on more than just rumor, has not been confirmed by Apple.
