They’re both big, but you know there isn’t going to be a tie when Godzilla and Transformers go toe to toe. Or has there already been a tie? One movie with giant creatures has to be the top dog this summer, but the question is, will it be the big G or the big T?
While it’s a given that Transformers will have a big audience, Godzilla is definitely picking up steam, and adding a new wrinkle to everything, it looks like interest in the Transformers trailer is about neck and neck with Japan’s favorite green nuclear reptile.
The big G was the most watched trailer on the web with 26.3 million views, but now Transformers has come up fast with 26.3 million views as well. These are huge numbers, especially considering right behind Transformers was the trailer for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which got 3.7 million views on YouTube.
In all likelihood, Transformers will come out on top out of the two franchises, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Godzilla comes close to its box office take. We’ll be watching closely for sure, with Godzilla coming out on May 16, and Transformers: Age of Extinction coming on June 27.
