Recently spotted AnTuTu benchmark results indicate that Asus may be preparing to debut a Android GameBox powered by Nvidia’s next-gen Tegra 4 ARM Cortex-A15 processor.
Additional purported game console specs include 2GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, and a 1280 x 720 pixel display.
As Liliputing’s Brad Linder notes, the device will likely hit the streets as some sort of handheld gaming system like Nvidia’s flagship Shield or Archos GamePad.
“But there’s no camera, which suggests that either this is an early prototype, or it’s really designed primarily for gaming and isn’t expected to replace a general-purpose tablet,” he explained.
Asus has yet to comment on the above-mentioned report, so there is no official confirmation, launch date or price tag. Nevertheless, TG Daily will keep you posted with any additional GameBox info that comes our way.
